On September 12, 2025, a group of in local community members gathered at the Nyah Grange # 133 in Hot Springs, Montana, to view a presentation by Hemp construction consultant Sergiy Kovalenkov CEO of Hempire and consultant for the US Hemp Building Association.

After listening to a presentation about environmental concerns of plastic and the release of toxic substances and chemicals that can occur from many modern construction products and, how hemp can help to create natural structures that are fire and mold resistant as well as carbon sequestering. The group gatherered for hands-on experience and application of hemp lime as a construction material.

With the children’s hemp house overwintering enduring the storms from the recent atmospheric river. Gives the small community built structure and opportunity to show it durability come Spring inspection. When the weather is arid enough to dry the structure a lime plastering workshop is in the designs.

During the atmospheric river storms a portion of the corrugated metal roof tore off. Giving even more reason to build a living rooftop that is fitting to the nearby community Garden of Life at the Grange, Workshop Announcements will be made later in the Spring.
